The Sun released yesterday their article for the Best of British Awards.
“It was exciting to scroll though the list to find in 15th place was GripIt Fixings. It’s such a great achievement for the team and to be in a list with such big companies such as Tesco, Premier Inn, Barclays etc.” said Jordan Daykin. The list shows that you don’t need to be a massive company in order to gain recognition.
GripIt was seen on Dragons’ Den back in 2014 when Jordan was just 18. The company was already on its own two feet being in 500 stores across the UK stocked in ScrewFix, Plumbase, Buildbase. Jordan wanted to take it that little bit further and going on Dragons’ Den was the best way for this. When in the den Jordan was successful in gaining an £80,000 investment for a 25% stake by Deborah Meaden, they now have a great working relationship together with a company that is worth 14 million to date.
GripIt is going from strength to strength, to now being stocked in over 5,000 stores across the UK supporting independent stores and being in names like B & Q, Wickes, ScrewFix, Travis Perkins, CEF, Edmundson Electrical, YESSS Electrical, Buildbase, Plumbase, Jewson’s, Maplin’s, Curry’s, and exported to 32 countries with RS components. GripIt has just been released in South Africa with Builders Warehouse and will shortly be launching in the USA stocking in the one of their largest DIY stores Home Depot. They will also be stocked in Bunnings in Australia and New Zealand in December.
The team has expanded rapidly from having 5 staff at the beginning to now having a team of just under 30, shows how far we have come. They have worked so hard over the past couple of busy months and being on the list just proves it.
